Adoption Process
Step 1
Before purchasing one of our kittens it is important that you understand and agree with our contract. It will explain all the commitments you will need to make when adopting one of our kittens and also our commitments to you.
Step 2
Contact via email or phone, I would like to get to you know and your family. Some of the questions you can expect are:
Do you have children?
If they are younger, have they been around small animals before?
Do you have other pets?
If you have dogs, do you have doggy doors installed?
What do you think about declawing? And free roaming outdoors?
If you rent, are you allowed animals in your rental?
Do you have a sex, color and/or pattern preference or are you more interested in temperament?
*Please be certain you have read our contract in its entirety and we have had contact before joining our waiting list. I do reserve the right to decline an adoption deposit if I feel it is not in the best interest of my kitten. After all my goal is to match new parents and kittens into forever companions; this can only be obtained if I am careful in the selection of the homes.
Step 3
If there are kittens available (8+ weeks) I will try to match them according to your requests.
Newborn kittens are evaluated for quality, sex and color at about 4-5 weeks of age and 1st selections will always go to the people on my waiting list. (As with all breeders I retain the right to first choice of any litter). Once the waiting list has been updated, I will then list the other kittens as available at which time pictures will viewable on the site, kittens will normally be approximately 5-6 weeks old.
Step 4
You've read the contract, we've spoken/emailed and you've picked your perfect little guy or girl. Now what?
Next is your reservation deposit, if you are on our waiting list it's the remainder of $200. If you are just leaving a reserve deposit without being on the waiting list its $200. Please keep in mind your kitten will not be reserved until I receive your deposit and signed contract. Also keep in mind deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE, so before leaving a deposit make sure you are willing to keep to your commitment. In the odd event that I determine that a particular kitten is not suitable for a home, I will then refund 100% of the deposit immediately. If you are unable to take your chosen kitten at delivery time, you have the option to transferred your deposit to a younger kitten (if available) or a future litter.
Step 5
Generally our kittens will leave our home between 12-14 weeks. Depending on social and motor skill coordination. It is very important to us that you get a happy, healthy well adjusted kitten. Therefore we believe that the last 4 weeks with mom and our help are very important in the quality of kitten you will receive.
How young is too young?
Ragdoll Angels is a early spay/neuter cattery. Meaning all kittens will go home early altered spay or neutered (no exceptions), Why? We feel that it's in the best interest of our kittens to be early altered. First and foremost recovery time in essentially nonexistent. Kittens return from surgery and are running around, eating and playing within hours. Still not sure; have more questions?
Time for pick up; we will contact you to schedule a pick up date and time. Please note all balances due at time of pick up are due in cash only unless other arrangements have been made prior.
Micro Chipping
Due to the growing requests for micro-chips, I have opted to offer it as an optional service. If you would like your kitten chipped its best done when the kitten goes in for spay/neuter. I can arrange this with my vet for his charge of $60, this will include registration paperwork and collar tag with chip information.
Shipping
If you are in Northern California or out of state we offer shipping via "personal escort". A person accompanies our kittens in cabin, therefore your kitten is never out of sight. This person will pick up your kitten from our arms at LAX and fly him or her to the airport of your choice right into your arms. This is to ensure your kitten is not neglected in cargo or forgotten on a tarmac in some airport facility. Our escort service is very reasonably priced when compared to airline cargo charges, however arrangements must be made 3-4 weeks in advance in order to have your kitten scheduled for timely flight at 12 weeks. Transportation fees of course are an additional expense.
Waiting List
Waiting list deposits are $100. This will ensure you get a kitten from a particular litter. If you want a kitten for a certain time of the year or are looking for a very specific kitten (i.e. quality, color, sex and/or pattern) this will guarantee you get the kitten you are requesting at time you need. These deposits are non-refundable so please be sure you are willing to wait for your perfect companion kitten before joining our waiting list.
