Ragdoll History...

The Ragdoll breed was started in the 1960's by a woman named Ann Baker
in Southern California. She bred a loving, gentle, longhaired white female
with Siamese markings to other longhaired cats. Her original stock
consisted of sturdy, free-roaming cats. By selecting individuals with
the look she wanted for her breeding program, she created a
type of standard for the Ragdolls we know today.

Size..

Ragdolls are large, loving, very laid-back longhairs with big, beautiful
blue eyes who love to be held, hugged and pampered. The average
male Ragdoll weighs between 18-22 pounds and females are slightly smaller.
Though Ragdolls are very large, they don't reach full maturity
until they are about 3 to 4 years of age.

Colors and Patterns...

Ragdolls come is six colors.. Seal, Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, Cream and Red.
The three patterns consist of Mitted, Bi-color and Colorpoint.

Temperament...

Ragdolls adore their humans and will do anything to please you. They always
run to the door to greet you, follow you around the house and like to
sleep with you. They are very gentle and will avoid scratching you at all costs;
they are great with small children, the elderly and are easily
introduced into a multi-pet household. Ragdolls are very quiet and
have a soft musical voice. They truly live up to their name with the
tendency to relax all their muscles and go limp while in your arms.
